Woman Shot In Kankakee

Kankakee City Police report a woman walked into one of the local hospitals late last week and said she’d been shot. According to reports, officers were called to the hospital just after eight Thursday night and talked to the woman who said she’d been walking on west Court Street when she heard gunfire and felt a pain in her leg and realized she’d been shot. Reports say the driver of the car that delivered the victim to the hospital had a different story, saying he’d been called to an address on North Evergreen Avenue to give the victim a ride to the hospital. The victim told police she had no idea who shot her and didn’t believe she was the intended target.
