Shots fired in Kankakee over the weekend

Kankakee City Police report a couple of instances where shots were fired in the city over the weekend. According to reports, the first happened about a quarter to two Saturday morning in the 500 block of South Rosewood Avenue. When they got there, officers say they found damage to an apartment building and a 15-year-old who was hit in the left ear by one of the rounds. The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment. No one else in the apartment was injured by the gunfire. Police say they found multiple shell casings nearby.

The second happened just before 10 Saturday night in the 200 block of Crestlane. This time, a door to an apartment building was damaged, but no one was hit by the gunfire. City Police continue to investigate both shootings.
