Kankakee Man Arrested On Murder Charges

A Kankakee man is being held in the Jerome Combs Detention center on charges he shot and killed his mother. Kankakee City Police say 27-year-old Devail A. Bryant walked into the police department about 10:30 yesterday morning and told officers he’d shot and killed his mother in a home in the 800 block of South Dearborn Avenue. Officers took Bryant into custody and went to investigate his claim. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner says 47-year-old Tamina Green was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound at the home about 11 yesterday morning. Bryant, who is reportedly the oldest son of the victim,  was arrested and charged with murder.
