Drought concerns continue across the area

Recent rains haven’t helped when it comes to drought conditions across the region. The latest map just released by the US Drought Monitor puts pretty much all of the listening area in the “moderate drought” category with only a swath through the middle of Will County considered to be only “abnormally dry”.  The entirety of Kankakee, Ford, Iroquois, Livingston and Grundy counties are rated as in “moderate drought” Across the state line, the entirety of Newton, Benton and Jasper Counties are also considered to be in “moderate drought”. This week’s map used information gathered through Tuesday.
