Fire Destroys Gibson City Garage

Fire destroyed a garage in Gibson City Tuesday. Gibson City Fire Chief Bruce Kallal says firefighters were called to the fire in the 400 block of Sangamon Avenue in Gibson City just after 11:30 Tuesday morning. When they got there, they found the detached garage fully engulfed in flames. Reports say the fire was put out quickly, but the garage and all of its contents were a total loss. The loss put at about 40-thousand-dollars. Chief Kallal says the fire started in nearby burning yard waste that spread to the garage.
