Jasper County Deputies Make Drug Arrest

Jasper County Indiana Sheriff’s Police report the arrest of a Wheatfield man on drug charges. In a Facebook post, Jasper County Deputies say they saw 47-year-old William S. Johnson of Wheatfield sitting in a pick-up truck in the Wheatfield area and knew him to be wanted on an outstanding warrant. When they approached the truck, Johnson reportedly started the truck and took off, leading police on a short chase that reached speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour. Reports say the chase ended when Johnson crashed in rural Jasper County. Johnson was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He was arrested by deputies for reckless driving along with various drug and weapons violations.
