Burglary Investigated

Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police are investigating an alleged burglary to a shed on South River Road. According to reports, it was just before 11 Monday morning when deputies spoke to the owner of the shed who said he’d been there Sunday and everything was okay, but when he returned on Monday it appeared someone had broken into the shed and taken several items worth more than 10-thousand-dollars. Just before 1:30 Monday afternoon Kankakee City Police notified deputies there was someone at a local recycling facility trying to recycle some of the allegedly stolen items. Those trying to recycle the items told police they’d found them beside the road. The owner took possession of the allegedly stolen items, but told police they didn’t want to press charges.
