Man Arrested in Connection to car Thefts

The Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force reports the arrest of a Kankakee man in connection to the theft of two cars.  According to reports, 19-year-old Ethan J. Smith had been a suspect in the theft of a Ford Escape in the 300 block of North Schuyler Avenue early Monday morning. Then, just before seven last night a Dodge pickup was stolen from the 500 block of North Entrance Avenue. Reports say Smith was found walking near the stolen Escape when it was found in the 19-hundred block of East Maple. Evidence allegedly tied Smith to the theft of the pickup as well. He was arrested for two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
