Fire Damages Barn in Peotone

Fire damaged a barn near Peotone Tuesday. Manhattan Fire Protection District Firefighters were called to the barn in the four-thousand block of Church Road about 4:30 yesterday afternoon.  When they got there, firefighters say they found a tractor on fire inside a large horse barn near some 100 bales of hay. Firefighters quickly put the fire out before it could reach the hay or surrounding building. No animals were lost in the fire.
