Kankakee City Police Report Gun Arrest

Kankakee City Police report another gun arrest. According to reports. it was just before midnight Tuesday night when officers stopped a car driven by 65-year-old Rodney H. Watkins near North Fifth and West Mulberry for a traffic violation. While talking to Watkins, officers asked for consent to search the car, Watkins declined. A State Police K-9 officer was brought in and alerted on the car. A search of the car allegedly turned up a handgun. City Police arrested Watkins for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a weapon by a felon.
