A bill has been introduced in the Illinois Senate to strengthen the protections of students who have been sexually assaulted on school property. 53rd District State Senator Chris Balkema explains the bill in more detail.
Senator Balkema added the bill was inspired by a real life situation in Illinois where a student was sexually assaulted in school and the other student accused of the attack was not even suspended or expelled, despite admitting to the offense.
