As the area starts to recover from the damage caused by the tornado that passed through the area Tuesday night, Kankakee County Sheriff Mike Downey asks you avoid the area hardest hit by the storm if you can.
Plus, Sheriff Downey adds, those who suffered loss deserve some privacy.
The Sheriff also warned of scammers in the area, trying to take advantage of those who have suffered damage during the storm. He says you can contact his office or Kankakee County if you have questions about someone in your area soliciting business.
