The Kankakee County Board held a special meeting this morning and unanimously voted in favor to extend the Proclamation of the Kankakee County Disaster Emergency by thirty days after the March 10th tornado. Kankakee County Under Sheriff Chad Gessner says FEMA along with local and State EMA officials will be in town this week to conduct a damage assessment.
Undersheriff Gessner says a total of eight teams will be in town this week to assess storm damage for the entire county. He also added they will be going door to door talking to people and should be wearing government IDs to show who they are.
