Hamlet Indiana man pleads to lesser charge

A Hamlet, Indiana man has pleaded guilty to reduced charges for his part in the 2019 shooting deaths of 18 year old Thomas Grill of Cedar lake and 19 year old Molly Lanham of St. John.  21 year old John Silva the second was originally charged with murder but was able to plead down to a charge of voluntary manslaughter with 31 years in prison.  Silva was in the basement of the home when the two were shot, he was back-up while his partner, Connor Kerner, shot the two in a drug money robbery.  Kerner was convicted of the double murder in 2020.
