During this morning’s meeting of the Kankakee County Board’s Criminal Justice Committee, County Coroner Bob Gessner gave the Committee a rundown of county-wide fatalities so far this year. Gessner noted the number of suicides in the county are up “quite a bit”. Gessner said overdose deaths continue to be a problem in Kankakee County
Gessner told the committee there’s a new type of fentanyl that he’s expecting will make it’s way to Kankakee County
Gessner added that while he’d not seen any overdoses from ISO fentanyl just yet, the last time he was given a warning about a new type of fentanyl, it was within days that he had his first overdose case involving the drug.
