Chicago stolen ambulance chase ends near Dwight

The Illinois State Police aren’t releasing many details after an ambulance was stolen in Chicago yesterday and taken led police on a 70-mile chase that ended on I-55 near Dwight. Police say the Chicago ambulance was parked outside of a fire station late yesterday afternoon when it was stolen.  The chase ended near Dwight when police used spike strips to disable the ambulance.  That’s when the suspect jumped out of the ambulance and took off on foot.  He was caught after a brief foot chase.  His name is being withheld pending charges.
