3 Honored in Pontiac on Arbor Day

Today is Arbor Day. Every year for the past 17 years, Pontiac has honored one their own with the planting of a tree in their memory. Today they honored three individuals who distinguished themselves over many years of service to the community. This year former Fire Chief’s Dr. Russel Pitch and Gary Popel had a tree planted in their name along with Jim Kingston the youngest Mayor ever elected to the office in Pontiac. He went on to serve for 28 years.
