Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police report a pair of arrests over the weekend. According to reports, deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of South Bridge Street in Aroma Park just after 5:30 Friday night for a report of a man with a gun. When they got there, deputies spoke to a resident of the home who told them he got out of the shower and found 32-year-old Joseph M. Krischokas Junior of Camdenton Missouri in his home with a shotgun. Krischokas then left the home and sat in his car until deputies arrived. Krischokas reportedly told police he’d entered the home believing his ex girlfriend was there. A woman in the home told deputies she was his ex-girlfriend and hid in a closet when she heard him enter the home. She said she texted a friend for help and they called police. A search of Krischokas’ car allegedly turned up a shotgun and various shotgun rounds. Krischokas was arrested by Deputies for home invasion and unlawful use of a weapon.
Just after 10 Saturday morning deputies were on patrol near a gas station in Pembroke township when they allegedly saw 41-year-old Elijah Dabney Junior leave the gas station and begin to walk to a nearby home, keeping an eye on the Sheriff’s Department car while walking. Reports say when deputies asked to talk to Dabney, he allegedly dropped a package of cigarettes and took off running. Once stopped, deputies say they saw Dabney digging in the dirt and a search of the hole he dug reportedly turned up a clear plastic bag containing 21 baggies of suspected crack cocaine. Dabney was arrested by Sheriff’s Police for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
