Illinois State Police are investigating a death at the Iroquois County Jail. In a press release, Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police say a traffic stop Wednesday night lead to the arrest of a Hoopeston man on an outstanding warrant out of Newton County, Indiana. That person was taken to the Iroquois County Jail and while in custody suffered some type of medical incident. The release goes on to say Deputies and Correctional Officers “attempted life-saving measures” and the person was taken to the hospital where they later died. State Police are looking into the incident.
