Manteno man dies in crash

A Manteno man is dead following a motorcycle crash over the weekend. Illinois State Police say a jeep was northbound on Route 50 about 8:30 Saturday night when the driver went to turn left on to 10-thousand north road and was hit by the motorcycle driven by 41-year-old Richard Culp of Manteno. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner says Culp was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. Gessner says Culp wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Illinois State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
