Gas prices hit record highs

Another day, another record high price for gasoline. The latest Triple-A survey finds the average price for a gallon of regular no-lead gas in the state of Illinois is five-dollars, 26 cents…up 13 cents since yesterday. Kankakee County isn’t far behind. Triple-A says a gallon of gas is running 5.08 in the county, up 13 cents since yesterday, 26 cents in the past week and 77 cents in the last month. A year ago at this time gas was running 3.20 a gallon. Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas is 4.71.
