Three found dead in house in Kankakee

An investigation is underway after three men were found shot to death Wednesday afternoon in a home in the 600 block of West Merchant Street. In a press release, Kankakee City Police say officers were called to the home about two yesterday afternoon after a family member called to say they’d gone to the house to do a welfare check on a relative and found the three inside. The release goes on to say all three had been shot several hours before, maybe even sometime overnight Tuesday night. Two of the men have been identified as 25-year-old Kyle M. Washington and 24-year-old Deontay M. Tyler. The name of the third victim hasn’t been released pending notification of next of kin. Kankakee Police ask anyone with any information about the shooting, or has had recent contact with any of the victims to call their office at 815-933-0426.
