The cost for a gallon of gasoline continues to fall as we enter the fourth of July holiday weekend. Triple-A says the average cost for a gallon of regular no-lead gas in the State of Illinois will set you back five-dollars 37 cents. That’s down two cents from yesterday. In Kankakee County the average is 5.16, down a penny and 12 cents cheaper than a week ago. Triple-A says gas in Iroquois County is running 5.03 a gallon, it’s 5.13 in Ford County and 5.09 in Livingston County.
Across the state line in Indiana, gas is averaging right at five-dollars a gallon in Newton County, 4.89 in Benton County and 5.15 in Jasper County. The state-wide average for the Hoosier state is four-dollars, 92 cents.
