Indiana State Police arrest Ambia man

In Ambia, Indiana, which is east of Hoopeston just across the State-line, police have arrested a man on a preliminary charge of Abuse of a Corpse.  Details have not yet been released, but Benton County Sheriff’s police say they were called for a welfare check at a home in Ambia on Sunday and discovered a body.   How the person was killed and an ID on the victim have not yet been released.  Police say following their initial investigation they arrested 60 year old Edward Bagwell alleging Bagwell tried to improperly dispose of the body.   Police have not yet said how the two knew each other.  Benton County has asked Indiana State police to handle the investigation.
