15 year-old dies in Kankakee shooting on Saturday

Kankakee City Police were dispatched to the 100 block of West Court Street on Saturday morning in reference to multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a black male laying on the sidewalk in the 100 block of North Washington Avenue, just north of West Court Street. Officers initiated medical treatment on the victim until EMS arrived and transported him to Saint Mary’s Hospital, where he later died. Officers have identified the victim as 15 year old Maurice M. Wilson of Kankakee. Kankakee Detectives are attempting to locate additional witnesses to the shooting and are canvassing the area for surveillance.
