Herscher facing bus driver shortage

The shortage of school bus drivers in Herscher continues to be a problem. The Daily Journal reports the Herscher School District is preparing to implement staggered start and dismissal times when school resumes in August. About ninety percent of the students in the district rely on the bus for transportation. The Herscher school district is offering an incentive program for new drivers which includes a one thousand dollar sign on bonus after working the job for one year.
