16-year-old charged as adult in last weekend’s murder

A JUVENILE has been CHARGED AS ADULT in connection to last weekend’s murder of 15 year old Maurice M. Wilson of Kankakee. In a Facebook post yesterday, Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe stated a 16-year old juvenile has been formally charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, a class X felony, in connection with the murder of Maurice Wilson. Following a hearing, the Court made a finding of probable cause and set the Defendant’s bond at two million. Wilson was found injured early Saturday morning laying on the sidewalk by Kankakee City police in the 100 block of north Washington avenue. Wilson was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital, where he later died.
