Gas prices down as work week begins

Gas is about a penny cheaper today as we head into another work week. Triple-A says the average cost for a gallon of regular no-lead gas across the Land of Lincoln is four-dollars-16 cents. Down a penny from yesterday, but still 81 cents higher than it was a year ago at this time. In the Kankakee area gas is running 3.82 on average, unchanged from yesterday. It’s 3.79 on average in Iroquois County, 4.08 in Ford County and 4.07 in Grundy County.
Across the State Line in Indiana, gas is running 3.82 on average in Newton County, 3.86 in Benton County and 4.00 even in Jasper County. The average cost for a gallon of regular no-lead gas in the Hoosier State is three-dollars-81 cents.
