Crescent City man dies in crash

Illinois State Police report a crash on I-57 in Ford County Saturday morning took the life of a 38-year-old Crescent City man. According to reports, the car driven by Ryan R. Rippe of Crescent City was southbound on the interstate, following a semi when his car hit the rear of the semi, passed through the median and came to rest facing south in the northbound lanes. Reports say Rippe was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
