Newton County Deputies investigate Tuesday morning crash

Routes 10 and 41 in Northwest Indiana had to be shut down for a time this morning because of a crash that involved two semi trucks. Newton County Sheriff’s Police say the preliminary investigation shows a semi  driven by a 55-year-old Massachusetts man was eastbound on Route 10 when his semi entered the intersection with US 41 and collided with a semi driven by a 62-year-old Virginia man. Reports say the driver of the first semi had to be cut from his truck. The condition of both drivers is unknown at this time. Newton County Sheriff’s Deputies continue to investigate the crash and asks anyone that saw the crash contact their office.
