Kankakee City Police make armed robbery arrest

Kankakee City Police report they have a man in custody for that armed robbery at a gas station in the 300 block of South Nelson Avenue earlier this week. According to reports, it was just before 10:30 Tuesday morning when a man wearing a black mask entered the store, grabbed a lighter and some cigars, then allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded the cash from the til. The owner says he gave the man the cash, then called 9-1-1 as the alleged robber fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. City Police arrested 22-year-old Jovon J. Heatherington Thursday for armed robbery.
