Wrongful death lawsuit filed against the City of Kankakee & the County Sheriff’s office

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against the City of Kankakee, the County Sheriff’s office and others in connection with the shooting outside the Courthouse in August of 2021 that left two men dead and another seriously wounded.  The families of the victims filed the suit claiming officials had been warned that a shooting was possible and failed to take proper precautions. .  The Daily Journal reports the suit is seeking in excess of 50,000 dollars for each victim.
