Cigarette smoking ruled cause of Paxton home fire

Following an investigation it’s been determined that cigarette smoking is to blame for a home fire on September 9^th in Paxton that consumed a house in the 500 block of West Holmes Street.  Paxton fire saying one of the home’s residents was smoking while using an oxygen tank and flames erupted.  Everyone in the home at the time was able to escape the blaze, a neighboring home also sustained some heat damage on their siding and windows.
