Village board votes yes for Gardner residents to raise chickens in their backyard

Gardner residents are now allowed to raise chickens in their backyard.  The village board voted this week to amend relevant sections of village codes to allow the fowl.  The vote came after the board approved a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning board that allow backyard chickens in areas zoned residential-1 and residential-2.
