Bourbonnais Board outlines plans for sales tax increase

As the November election approaches and Bourbonnais residents will vote on a proposed sales tax increase in the village, the Bourbonnais Village Board last night put in writing their intentions for what to do with money raised by the increase. Village Administrator Mike VanMill

The proposal would raise the sales tax in the village by a penny on the dollar, bringing the village in line with other municipalities in the area. Since talk of the proposal began, Village officials have said the increase would be used to provide property tax relief to village residents.
