Arrest Made in Shots Fired

A man who was detained last Thursday by police in connection with a shots fired incident in the parking lot of the Jailhouse Rock in the 700 block of West Williams, has now been charged in the shooting.  Police say Jacob Helms allegedly shot up a car outside a tavern where his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend were enjoying themselves.  Police say Helms had sent the woman threatening text messages prior to the shooting.  He’s charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Criminal Damage to Property. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
