Water Rates Going up in Coal City

Water and sewer utility rates are going up in Coal City. The Coal City Village Board has approved an increase of 7 percent.  That’s much higher than the nearly 3 percent increase of last year.   Village officials say the larger increase is necessary to help fund  expansion of the system.
