Man Tries to Steal a Golf Cart with a Stolen Dump Truck

A Goose Lake, Illinois man was arrested last week in Elwood for allegedly using one stolen vehicle to steal another.  According to court documents police were called to Rt. 53 and Huff Road in the early morning hours of last Thursday.  Upon arrival they found a dump truck on the side of the road that had been stolen a few hours earlier in Braidwood.  Behind the truck was a golf court that had also been stolen from a home in Elwood.  Police say 54 year old Michael Honiotes was on the side of the road allegedly trying to put the golf cart into the dump truck.  He’s been charged with two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle.
