The Ford County Chronicle has requested the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Public Access Bureau investigate an alleged violation of the Illinois open meetings act by the Loda Village board. According to the paper, at their April 12th meeting, the board went into an executive session to discuss employee matters, but when they returned to open session they voted on a bid to mow village property and that according to the paper went to the highest not the lowest bidder. The paper is seeking either audio of the closed session or written minutes. No word on when a ruling by the AG can be expected.
