Grundy County Man Arrested on Child Sex Charges

Bond has been set at a quarter of a million dollars for a man who Grundy County Sheriff’s police say sexually abused a child under the age of 13 In Verona every other day since the beginning of January 2021.  The child and 46 year old Robert Schaffnit the 3rd know each other, but police have not said how.  Schafnnit is charged with Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Prosecutors say more charges are possible.
