Wilmington Firefighter Dies in Crash

A member of the Wilmington Fire Protection District was killed over the weekend in a single vehicle motorcycle accident.  Illinois State police say firefighter paramedic David Pollack died from injuries received when the 31 year old struck a tire in the roadway on Rt. 129 south of Division Street.  According to state police Pollack lost control of the bike and was ejected.  Pollack was airlifted to the hospital where he later died.  Pollack had joined the department in January of 2018.
