Kankakee reports armed robbery

Kankakee City Police report an armed robbery Monday. Reports say it happened about six last night when officers were called to several reports of shots fired in the area of the 13-hundred block of South 3rd Avenue. While searching the area, officers were notified of an area resident with video of people shooting in her back yard. Further investigation lead to the determination it was an armed robbery and the shooters were firing at the victim. A check of the area turned up shell casings and the victim told officers the suspects took his wallet, phone and some cash. No one was hurt in the incident. City Police continue to investigate.
