There were several observances held over the weekend to commemorate Veteran’s Day. It was standing room only at the Kankakee County Historical Museum Saturday morning for the Kankakee County Veterans Council’s observance. 79th District State Representative Jackie Haas delivered a Veterans Day Message, telling those in attendance that we owe our veterans a debt of gratitude
Guest speaker, Navy Veteran Jim Wasser – decorated for this three tours of duty in Vietnam called the group a brotherhood and sisterhood, but pointed out their numbers are dwindling
Wasser added every 65 minutes a veteran or someone in active military takes their own life.
