Kankakee Tax Payers A Giving Bunch

The residents in Kankakee are apparently a charitable bunch.  The Daily Journal reports that according to IRS data city residents contributed over 30 million dollars in 2020 to charities.  Kankakee ranks 73rd out of 231 small metro areas for giving and 153 nationwide.  In 2020 over 17,000 city tax returns included reports of donations averaging 17 hundred dollars each.
