Kankakee man guilty of murder

A Kankakee man faces up to life in prison after a Kankakee County jury this week, found him guilty of a 2014 murder. Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe says 56-year-old John Magee junior was convicted of the First Degree Murder in the death of Dearrion Harris.  Jurors found Magee fired the shot that killed the 26-year-old Harris in the 500 block of North Harrison Avenue in November of 2014.  Magee was arrested eight years later in September of 2022.
