Kankakee City Police investigate after woman’s body found

Kankakee City Police and the Kankakee County Coroner’s office are investigating after a woman’s body was found in the city this morning. Kankakee City Police say they were called to the 12-hundred block of South Washington Avenue just before 9 this morning for a unresponsive female. When they got there, officers found the 53-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. City Police and the Coroner’s office are working to determine the woman’s cause of death.
