Gas prices across Illinois have once again taken a jump as we start the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Triple-A says the average cost for a gallon of regular no-lead gas is four-dollars-seven cents across the Land of Lincoln, that’s up another six cents overnight and up 18 cents since Monday. Gas in the Kankakee area has actually dropped about a penny to three-85 a gallon on average. Triple-A says the cost across Kankakee County is 3.86 a gallon. It’s 3.68 in Iroquois County, 3.76 in Ford County and 3.92 in Grundy County.

Across the state line, Triple-A says a gallon of gas will set you back 3.51 on average in Newton County, and 3.63 in both Benton and Jasper Counties.  Triple-A says a gallon of gas will set you back about three-dollars-70 cents on average across the Hoosier State.

The Nation-wide average for a gallon of gas is three-dollars-60 cents.
