Miranda Ruling Made in Bradley Murder Case

May 29, 2024 | 5:23 AM

In Kankakee County Court Friday, Judge Kathy Bradshaw Elliott ruled that Bradley police did not violate the Miranda rights of accused killer Anthony Gulley during two police interviews. The defense had asked the court to suppress the interviews that Gulley believed was as a victim of a crime, not as a suspect in a murder investigation.  According to the Daily Journal, Gulley’s home had been shot up in March of 2023.  A Bradley man was later charged in the shooting, but during the interviews, Gulley had been asked about 47 year old Randel Robinson who was still missing at the time.  Robinson’s body was discovered in April of 2023 in a trailer that had been stashed at Acme Auto Parts in Bradley, though prosecutors believe he was killed in January of 23 at Gulley’s Bradley home. The Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s office says Gulley did waive his Miranda Rights during both interviews.
