Deputies make arrest in fatal shooting

Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting Sunday night that killed a 39-year-old Pembroke Township man. Reports say 54-year-old Willie C. Felton of rural Pembroke Township was arrested Monday afternoon on charges related to the shooting. Deputies were called to the intersection of 15450 East and 45-hundred South roads just before 10:30 Sunday night for a report of shots fired. When they got there, deputies say they found Derrick A Dansby-Draine of Pembroke Township unresponsive. County Coroner Bob Gessner says Dansby-Draine died of multiple gunshot wounds and classified the death as a homicide. County Sheriff Mike Downey credited work by Sheriff’s Department investigators for the Felton’s quick apprehension in the case.
