State Police to perform special patrols tonight

The Illinois State Police have announced they’ll conduct Occupant Restraint Enforcement or OREP Patrols tonight Kankakee, Ford and Iroquois Counties. Troopers say the special patrols allow them to focus on safety belt and child safety seat violations. Troopers say nearly half of all those killed in traffic crashes aren’t properly buckled up. OREP patrols are part of the State Police “Cllick it or Ticket” campaign.
